The identification and partial recovery of an archive form the city of Iri-Sagrig / Al-Å arraki in the vicinity of Nippur have provided an intimate portrait of an important royal, religious and cult center in Sumer during the Ur III period. The publication includes an extensive introduction, a new and complete calendar, transliterations of ca. 650 texts, a new type of royal messenger text, cultic and religious texts and various economic records.
